Regina M. Thompson

Regina Thompson is a registered nurse and has over 20 years of experience in health care. Her nursing background is iRegina Thompson, DNP, RN, NEA-BC has been a registered nurse for nearly 20 years. She began her professional healthcare career at Parkland Hospital in 1994. Her nursing experience includes labor and delivery, case management, nurse recruitment, value analysis in supply chain, managed medicaid, pediatrics, clinical operations, mental health/behavioral and executive nursing leadership in healthcare.  Regina attended David W. Carter High School in Dallas, Texas. She first received her associate degree in nursing from Brookhaven College, then went on to achieve her Bachelor of Science in nursing and Master of Science in nursing with a concentration in healthcare administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. She also holds a certificate in Nursing Education. In 2019, Regina completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice concentrating in Healthcare Administration from Capella University. Additionally, she holds a certification as an Advanced Nurse Executive through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Regina currently serves as the vice-chair on the Texans Cans Academy Board of Trustees, Trustee for Cars for Kids Board of Directors and is a PROUD member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. She is the mother of 3 children and is the grandmother to a beautiful 3-year-old granddaughter. She takes pride in her ability to mentor others and volunteer in the community with various service projects. Her life philosophy to success is “to take the road least traveled”.
