Boasting more than 30 years of extensive experience in the technology services industry, Richard Peña is extremely well versed in IT infrastructure technology, services , technical personnel management, and vendor relations. His many years as a Technology Services Manager and consultant allows him to effectively align technology with the needs of Education and Business Services in support of Texans Can’s mission. His diverse knowledge of technology and experience in managing projects and personnel along with his diverse background in both educational and corporate settings has facilitated a uniquely efficient perspective of system strategies and implementations.

Mr. Peña’s tenure at Texans Can Academies spans over a decade, beginning in 2005 when he was onboarded as an IT Support Services and Service Desk Manager. His career ascension followed his integrity and strong commitment to corporate stability through attention to critical systems and processes impacted by technology.

Presently, Mr. Peña serves among the Texans Can Leadership team as the Director of Technology-Operations and Engineering. His supervisory coverage umbrella encompasses all technology operations, network infrastructure engineering and deployment, and support operations. His knowledge and strategies help ensure innovative solutions and implementations that yield the most effective results for the District. Mr. Peña exhibits leadership and technological aptitudes coupled with a vision dedicated to the success of Texans Can Academies.

Prior to his more recent accomplishments, Mr. Peña spent the beginning of his professional career in various corporate sector IT roles. He was twice recognized as the national top systems engineer for Sears Business Centers and sat on the Sears Business Centers President’s Advisory Council. Mr. Peña has contributed to the success of several technology companies, ranging from start-ups to established national entities.
