Texans Can Academies Campuses Open Doors for Harvey Victims and Provide Aid to Houston Students

August 31, 2017

Ten Texans Can Academies campuses in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth and San Antonio are open for enrollment to all ninth through 12th grade students who have evacuated their homes due to Hurricane Harvey. Texans Can Academies has 13 non-profit dropout recovery high schools located in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and San Antonio. All schools offer open enrollment, allowing students to enroll any day of the school year and begin learning in the classroom that same day. Texans Can Academies understands the importance of providing students with a sense of normalcy after tragedy strikes and welcomes all students to continue classes so there is not a gap in their school year education.

Additionally, a $20,000 relief fund has been started by Cars for Kids, a nonprofit organization that benefits all Texans Can Academies campuses, for the employees of the three Houston Can schools that are displaced by the effects of Hurricane Harvey. The fund has been established to assist students and employees of the three Houston Can Academy campuses who have been affected by the storm. Any student or faculty member of the Houston Can campuses are invited to email harveyrelief@texanscan.org if they are in need of bus passes, clothing, food, toiletries or need other assistance.
