75 Students Graduate from San Antonio Can High School

These graduates have overcome more than the everyday challenges of high school.

They’re a special class of 75 that have worked to get their degree from the nonprofit San Antonio Can High School. The charter school is designed to help young people graduate when the traditional route just doesn’t fit.

Two proud parents say their son never lost sight of the prize.

“We’re always confident with Angelo. He’s always been strong about finishing what he’s started since day one,” said Phillip Hernandez.

Angelo is already making plans.

“I want to go to St. Phillip’s and do my basics, try to become a physical therapist, and along the way try to get a job at Methodist with my dad,” said Angelo Demetri Pastrano.

Many of the graduates were the first in their family to receive degrees.
