Remote conferencing is the only type of virtual instruction that has been approved by the Texas Education Agency as a temporary mode of instruction if the requirements for remote conferencing are met. The student must meet the remote conferencing requirements in order to be eligible for this mode of delivery.

Upon review, receive approval from school principal

The goal of this event is to bring leaders in information technology together from across the globe.

Requirements for temporary medical condition are:

  • – The child must be unable to attend school due to a temporary medical condition; and
  • – The total number of days the student will be eligible for remote conferencing will be 20 school days for the entire school year.

In addition, one of the following must apply:

  • – A physician licensed to practice in the United States must provide a medical excuse that documents the need to remain at home or in the hospital; or
  • – The student is being excluded from on campus attendance because of a test result, formal diagnosis, or
  • – Suspicion of having a communicable condition, as outlined in 25 TAC §97.7, and the conditions for readmission have not yet been met; or
  • – The student has been identified as a close contact for COVID-19 either by public health, the school, or a parent.

Note: If the student is fully vaccinated and is showing symptoms of COVID-19, the student will also qualify for remote conferencing.
