Joining Texans Can in 2021, Stacy Venson brings twenty-four years’ experience in education, including twelve years in the classroom, both elementary and secondary, and twelve in administration. As a teacher, she

taught various areas of special education, including functional life skills and vocational skills to students with emotional and behavioral needs.

Her administrative experience includes positions at Dallas ISD, where she served as the Director of Curriculum & Instruction; El Paso ISD, where she oversaw programming for students who receive special education services, 504 services, and health services; and, most recently, the Texas Education Agency, where she served as a manager of the office of special populations as well as monitor in the division of review and support.

Bringing passion to her work informed by long-standing personal connection, Stacy believes in ensuring all students receive the academic and social support needed to reach their full potential.

An Oklahoma native and member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, Stacy holds a bachelor’s degree in Education from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and a master’s degree in Special Education from the University of North Texas. She is currently enrolled in the superintendent certification program at Lamar University.

Stacy has three grown sons, two daughters-in-law, and four grandchildren.
