Now with the City of Fort Worth for more than twenty-six years, Sharon A. Burkley is experienced with managing public funds for public good. Currently the Community Development Planning Manager in the city’s Neighborhood Services Department where she also had been Senior Planner, Ms. Burkley helps to realize the City’s goals and objectives through such programs as the Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnerships Program, the Emergency Solutions Grant, and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS. Her administrative skills have touched numerous corners of the City of Fort Worth.

Ms. Burkley holds a BS in Accounting from the University of North Texas and an MBA, also in Accounting, from Dallas Baptist University. She belongs to several professional affiliations, including the American Planning Association, the National Community Development Association (Region IV), the National Forum for Black Public Administrators, and the Texas Association of Community Action Agencies.  Ms. Burkley is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and supporting the arts, from museums, to theater to her favorite, which is supporting live music and concerts from local bands and groups.
