PROGRAMS OF STUDY

What is a Program of Study?

A program of study is a Career Cluster specific coherent sequences of courses that lead to an endorsement. It’s similar to a college degree, allowing the student to learn more about a particular subject area. Programs of study give students the opportunity to:

  • earn an industry-based certification

  • join a student organization

  • participate in work-based learning

  • earn an endorsement

CTE programs of study ensure students are prepared for in-demand, high-skill, high-wage careers.

*Program of study offerings vary by campus.

A student becomes a program of study completer by completing and passing 3 or more CTE courses for a total of at least 4 credits within the same program of study. One of the courses must be a an advanced, level 3 or 4, course.

HEALTH INFORMATICS

Do you have an interest in the medical industry and business? Health Informatics is centered on patient information management. Learn about computerized healthcare and the process of creating and maintaining hospital and patient records.

Phlebotomy

HEALTHCARE DIAGNOSTICS

Do you enjoy caring for others? This program is an introduction to occupations related to performing complex medical laboratory tests for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Explore opportunities associated with blood laboratories, radiologic technology, and/or ultrasound technology.
