We are often asked how long the hiring process takes with Texans Can Academies. The truth is, the answer varies. Here is a brief snapshot of the steps a candidate takes to become a new employee with Texans Can Academies.

Step 1

The candidate must fully complete the online application. It is fine to forward a resume and letter of interest to the Principal or Hiring Administrator, but the application MUST be completed in order for it to be considered. Positions must be posted a minimum of 10 days, in most cases, before applications can be reviewed.

Step 2

The Hiring Administrator reviews submitted applications and narrows a selection of candidates to move forward in the the interview process.

Step 3

Selected candidates are notified, invited to interview, and complete the interview process. In some cases, pre-work or sample tasks must be completed as a part of the interview process

Step 4

The Hiring Administrator will check references for candidates who remain in the selection process. At least one (1) reference must be the candidates current or most recent supervisor. If there is a situation that requires special consideration, please notify the Hiring Administrator.

Step 5

The Hiring Administrator recommends a lone finalist to Human Resources for hire.

Step 6

Within 3-5 days of receiving the recommendation, Human Resources extends an offer of employment to the finalist. The finalist will have approximately two (2) business days to consider and take action on the offer.

Step 7

With an accepted offer, the finalist completes onboarding and background verification/fingerprinting. Results of the background check can take 3-5 business days to come in after a completed appointment.

Once background verification is complete, the hire date is confirmed and the new employee is cleared to work. In all, the hire process can take 2-3 weeks from the time a recommendation to hire is received in Human Resources. We encourage applicants to give attention to emails and phone calls received from Human Resources, and to timely complete any required tasks to ensure a smooth process.
