TCA Students

Texans Can Academies (TCA) continues to advance its commitment to student success through a series of impactful initiatives, celebrations, and program launches across its campuses. These efforts reflect a strong focus on preparing scholars for college, career, and life through innovative programming and meaningful engagement.

At TCA Pleasant Grove, families, scholars, and staff came together for a successful Senior Success Night, celebrating graduating seniors and recognizing their academic achievements and future pathways. The event highlighted the strong community support surrounding students and the collective investment in their success.

TCA FW Lancaster has expanded its career readiness offerings with the launch of free HVAC and Phlebotomy programs. These programs provide scholars with the opportunity to earn their high school diploma while also obtaining industry-recognized certifications in high-demand fields. By combining academics with hands-on training, the campus is creating direct pathways to workforce opportunities.

In addition, Texans Can Academies has introduced a Lash Certification program featuring advanced 3-D lash training, further broadening opportunities for students interested in the beauty and wellness industry. The organization has also launched a Community Health Worker program in partnership with a leading healthcare provider, as well as expanded workforce development efforts through collaboration with the DeSoto Career Center.

Texans Can Academies also marked a significant milestone with the completion of its first Paid-to-Learn cohort. Out of 27 participants, 25 scholars successfully completed the program, demonstrating strong commitment and perseverance. Participants gained valuable real-world skills and received a $200 stipend in recognition of their dedication and engagement throughout the experience. The program underscores the organization’s commitment to connecting education with practical workforce experience.

Building on this success, Texans Can Academies is preparing to launch Cohort 2 of the Paid-to-Learn program on May 4. The upcoming cohort will serve students ages 14–17 and will continue to emphasize skill development, accountability, and career exposure. With limited spots available, the program aims to extend its impact to even more scholars seeking meaningful educational and career opportunities.

Across its campuses, Texans Can Academies remains focused on strengthening instructional leadership, expanding innovative programs, and creating supportive environments where students can thrive. These combined efforts demonstrate a continued investment in providing accessible, high-quality education and workforce pathways for all scholars.
