Mental Health

TCA is recognizing May as Mental Health Awareness Month by reinforcing its commitment to supporting the mental health and wellness of students, families, and staff throughout the district.

Mental health awareness plays an important role in student success, employee well-being, and maintaining healthy school communities. Throughout the month, TCA is encouraging open conversations about mental health while providing resources and support services designed to help individuals better understand emotional wellness, stress management, and available support systems.

Recently, TCA shared mental health and wellness resources with families through its Thrillshare communication platform. These resources include training videos and informational materials for parents and students focused on recognizing signs of stress and anxiety, understanding mental health concerns, and learning healthy coping strategies.

TCA also offers free TCHATT referrals for students who may benefit from additional emotional or mental health support. Referrals are available through school counselors with parental consent.

In support of employee wellness, TCA provides access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), which offers confidential support services and mental health resources for employees. Staff members seeking additional support are encouraged to contact the Human Resources Department for more information.

TCA encourages students, families, and staff to practice healthy stress-management strategies, including deep breathing exercises, taking walks, listening to music, using calming tools, staying physically active, and seeking support from trusted adults, counselors, family members, or friends.

As Mental Health Awareness Month continues, TCA remains dedicated to fostering a safe, supportive, and caring environment where all students and staff can thrive.
