DALLAS–FORT WORTH, Texas — Texans Can Academies recognized National Voter Registration Day today with districtwide student voter education led by Ms. Payne and the Career and Technical Education (CTE) specialists, providing eligible students with information and resources to better understand the voter registration and voting process.
The event was held in partnership with Texans Can Academies Board Chair Dr. Thalia Matherson, the Trinity (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, and the League of Women Voters Dallas Voting Initiative.
Throughout the day, informational sessions were held across Texans Can Academies campuses, where students learned about the voter registration process, voting rights, and the responsibilities associated with participating in the electoral process. Eligible students were also provided an opportunity to complete voter registration materials on campus if they chose to do so.
The districtwide effort was designed to provide students with accurate, nonpartisan information and help them better understand how the voter registration process works.
National Voter Registration Day is a nonpartisan civic holiday dedicated to increasing awareness of voter registration and connecting eligible Americans with voter registration information and resources.
Texans Can Academies extends its appreciation to Ms. Payne, the CTE team, Board Chair Dr. Matherson, the Trinity (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, the League of Women Voters Dallas Voting Initiative, and participating staff for supporting student education and helping ensure students have access to information about the voting process.
Participating campuses included Oak Cliff, Dallas North, Grant East, Pleasant Grove, and Fort Worth West Creek.
