Our TCA Houston Southwest Academy, led by Principal Gonzalez, hosted a vibrant community event on Monday, March 25, 2024. We were thrilled to welcome numerous community partners, TCA campus leaders, students, parents, staff, conservators, and TCA Board Members.
During the event, Trustee Dr. Julissa Alcantar Martinez facilitated an interactive and engaging two-way discussion, educating families about the district's vision, goals, and Lone Star Governance. Trustees La Juana Sandford and Steve Anderson actively engaged with families and students, fostering meaningful connections throughout the session. Superintendent Dr. Ponce closed the session by reminding families of the academic and social-emotional resources available to each student.

In March, Texans Can Academies is celebrating Women's History Month and the significant contributions of women and girls throughout American history, in alignment with the nation's celebration.
First observed as a weeklong celebration, the United States expanded its celebration honoring American women to a month long observance in the late 1980s. The observance coincides with International Women’s Day, which is being celebrated this year on Friday, March 8.

The TCA Board of Trustees held a Community Event tonight at TCA Dallas North. The event provided training for parents, students, staff, and the community on the vision and board goals for TCA through the lens of Lone Star Governance.
