At 10, Angelica got in her first fight. She kept fighting until she found herself in alternative school in eighth grade.
Once in high school, Angelica stopped fighting, but she started skipping. High school was a big place with big demands, and she found it hard to identify with students who seemed more comfortable with academics. She came to Texans Can and found a smaller environment. In time, she was adjusting and even earned a forklift certification—the first female out of a class of 42 to apply for it.
Angelica graduates in 2023.
